AmVets Post 2005

AmVets is for ALL veterans and ALL services Silver Valley AmVets Post 2005 is an important resource for ALL veterans and their families in northern Idaho's Silver Valley, which surrounds Interstate 90 between Fourth of July Pass and Lookout Pass in Shoshone County. The National AmVets organization has three major objectives, which we implement at the local level.
2008 CALENDAR
  • Sunday, July 6:
Meeting of AmVets Post 2005 at Osburn VFW,
    1:00 PM
  • Veterans Service
Free counseling and claims assistance for honorably discharged veterans and dependents
  • Legislative Action
Capitol Hill initiatives to secure earned benefits and services for veterans
  • Quality of Life Programs
Community services that help families, neighbors and the nation at large

AmVets Post 2005 will again be sponsoring Fourth of July fireworks stands from June 28th to July 4th. The stands will be open for sale of fireworks from 9 AM to 9 PM, starting Saturday, June 28th, through Independence Day. We will be located in the parking lot of Harvest Foods grocery store in Wallace (as usual), AND in the WalMart parking lot in Smelterville (new this year).

There will be a drawing held July 3rd, at 5 PM, for a fireworks package giveaway. Any one 18 years or older may enter at the stands. No purchase is necessary to enter. All money raised will be used to fund various activities to assist local veterans and their families.

Regular meetings will normally be held on the first Sunday of the month at 1 PM in Osburn at the VFW hall, corner of 4th and Mullen streets. If the meeting date conflicts with a holiday, the meeting will be moved to the next Sunday. Thus, our next regular meeting will be Sunday, July 6, 2008.
